  Thallus forming irregularly spreading rosettes to 6 cm wide. Lobes laciniate, ±discrete to ±imbricate, to 5 mm wide with undulate, ascending, slightly thickened, entire to incised-crenate margins. Upper surface scabrid at lobe margins and towards apices, dark blue-green when wet, blue-grey or more rarely brownish when dry. Lower surface white at margins, buff brown centrally, with bundles of white to blue-black rhizohyphae. Apothecia very common, often crowded, to 1 mm wide; disc concave, matt, epruinose, pale red-brown or pinkish; proper exciple prominent, persistent, whitish; hymenium I-. Ascospores 13–23 × 6–12 µm.
     
  Occurs in N.S.W. at Barrington Tops, in eastern Vic. and rather widely in Tas. grows on twigs of mainly successional shrubs in habitats with high rainfall or frequent mist. Also in N.Z., S Chile and Tristan da Cunha.
